Technology providers are often best suited for clients who have already sourced their own prizes and only need the tools to display the lots during the event. Some may offer additional prizes to offset their costs, while others may find other ways to generate revenue.

At the end of the day, there’s no such thing as “free.” While we don’t typically charge for technology, staff, or EPOS terminals (should you need them), our revenue comes from the prizes that we provide. Whether we supply them on a Sale or Return (SOR) basis or manage the entire event, our profit is built into the prizes we offer.

MISCONCEPTIONS

A common misconception we often hear is that prize providers take all the money, leaving little or nothing for the charities. This simply isn’t the case. What’s often overlooked is that when we supply prizes, we have to purchase or create them, which involves a cost.

When guests attend your event and bid on a prize, they’re typically assessing its value for money. Our strategy is to offer prizes with low reserves, which encourages competitive bidding. High reserves, on the other hand, often discourage bids and can result in items not selling at all. We avoid setting high reserves because it’s counterproductive to achieving strong results.

Another misconception is that reducing the number of lots somehow leads to higher fundraising. In reality, having a variety of lots is crucial. You need to offer a diverse selection to appeal to all guests and ensure there’s something for everyone. Guests will only bid on items that interest them. Over the past 25 years, we’ve fine-tuned this approach to perfection, making it an art form.

If you have a fundraising target in mind, it’s important to consider how best to reach it. Auctions are an excellent way to achieve your goal, but the prizes need to offer good value to attract bids. Our prizes are designed to complement your existing donations, ensuring competitive bids and helping you hit your fundraising targets. For every item we supply, you benefit—and that’s a win-win for everyone.

DE-RISKING

We support event organisers and charities by partnering with them to provide equipment, staff, and products at no upfront cost. This means the charity or client can focus on the success of the event without worrying about additional expenses.

In most cases, we supply prizes valued between £60K and £120K, depending on the size of the event. Clearly, this is a level of risk that most charities would not be willing to take, especially when there’s no guarantee that the prizes will sell. By supplementing your donations with our prizes, you eliminate this financial risk. If the prizes don’t sell, there’s no loss to the charity—making it a secure and low-risk way to enhance your fundraising efforts.
